Cadet Application Information
A Positive Experience for Police and Youth Since 1987!
The members of the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop R are proud to announce the sponsorship of Camp Cadet 2024
The camp is designed to bring a better understanding to youth of law enforcement activities while living in an atmosphere of an actual State Police Training Facility. Emphasis is placed on self-discipline, the ability to make new friends and work with them as a team.
The week long experience will be brought to boys and girls at no expense to them. The camp is funded solely by area police, civic and business groups, as well as private contributions.
Among the instruction to be presented will be State Police Aviation, Patrol and K-9 Units, Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Secret Service, Pennsylvania Game Commission, Sheriff's Departments, Bomb Squad and much more.
It is a week full of excitement that will not soon be forgotten.
Check-in is Sunday afternoon and the week concludes on Friday evening with a graduation ceremony where family and friends are welcome.
Eligibility Requirements:
(1) Applicants MUST reside in Lackawanna, Pike, Susquehanna or Wayne County.
(2) Applicants MUST be at least 13 yrs. old, but not older than 15 yrs. old on July 12, 2024
Note: Misrepresentation of any of the above requirements will result in disqualification.
Interested male or female applicants must submit applications no later than February 29, 2024. Applicants will be randomly selected to continue to the interview process. Eligible applicants will then be accepted.
